Senior CDI Education and Quality Specialist (Remote / Travel) (19182)

This system wide educator will work closely with physician liaisons and provider staff to improve providersí understanding of documentation; works with hospital CFOs to encourage active participation. Coordinate, lead and participate in peer-to-peer discussions with payers; directly involved in clinical DRG denials management. Ensures improved documentation to support appropriate coding, quality reporting and reimbursement.

Our client, a financially stable health system in the southwest, is seeking an experienced Manager CDI.
Reporting to the Regional Director, Health Information Management; the Manager CDI manages the operation of the Physician & Clinical Documentation Improvement Program. Manages PDI/CDI staff including staffing, scheduling, performance reviews, employee performance management.
This position is also responsible for providing clinically based concurrent and retrospective review of inpatient medical records to evaluate the utilization and documentation of acute care services.
Qualifications and Experience: Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Graduate of International Medical School with minimum of 2 years' clinical/CDI experience in an acute care setting, with a minimum 2 years of supervisory and/or management experience.
